Spiderman and Hannah Montana Set to become BFF's?
This morning, I woke up to the news that Walt Disney, the source of my childhood joy, has bought over Marvel Entertainment for a whopping $US4 billion, which claims to be the biggest media deal of 2009.
In a bid not to lose their appeal to boys and teenage males, the brotherhood of Spidey, Iron man and the Incredible Hulk joins the sisterhood of Hannah Montana and the Disney princesses.
With Disney's take over of Pixar in 2006, the media and entertainment conglomerate really seems to be building a Kingdom for itself.
Now I totally want to join the the Mickey Mouse Club ;)

I'm stressed
I'm stressed. Know how I know that? Cold turkey from Coke is over. I drank about 1.25 litres today. Yes I'm stressed. know how I know that? I spend half an hour staring at the ceiling before fatigue finally plunges me into sleep at night. Indeed I'm stressed know how I know that? I'm writing a poem in rhetoric, which was taught to us on monday morning Oh God I'm stressed.

The Ugly Truth, Wii and the Lampost
Caught the latest Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler movie 'The Ugly Truth' yesterday..well it provided alot of comic relief.. but the best way to describe the movie would be sexed-up..like seriously sexed-up ( is there even such a word?)..it's not like I'm the holiest person around but after the show I was telling Yu Lin that I really need to go home and cleanse my mind..haha
After that we headed to Joelyn's and Samuel's place for a time of Wii...I played the boxing one with Suzanne who was super hyper at like 11pm LOL..and lo and behold this morning my arms were aching from the punching...
the funniest thing though was that I nearly walked straight into a lampost while trying to look at this nice water feature in this restaurant along stanley street..ok actually I did walk into the lampost or at least my right shoulder did...haha the rest were wondering why I had physical manifestations of alcohol consumption even though all I had was ribena haha and now my right shoulder hurts as well....
But at least yesterday was a good day compared to monday:)Happy Ekka Hols everyone!!

Feeling Five different kinds of shit
ON FRIDAY:
Richard Ashcroft‘s sharply chiselled face and deep sunken eyes stare straight at me, with sounds of Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve playing in the background. The latest conundrum in my academic life is none other than that of my first visual communication assignment. Indeed journalism students should not have to endure the travail of visual communication, FYI we communicate through WRITTEN LANGUAGE.
Words are to us what clay is to a potter and visual communication is just so irrelevant and redundant (I know at least five other journalism students who agree with me). Let us leave the art of visual language and its bothersome intricacies to the advertising students shall we?
I Know I sound like some whiny little brat, but studies have shown that whining is therapeutic.. studies by Aretha that is ;) Shopping is therapeutic too! Went to the city and managed to purchase a bit of momentary happiness which thankfully has not yet dissipated. Dear me my brains are really sore from brainstorming for ideas...or maybe from the verve...shall drink more water to hydrate Mr. Brain and perhaps get some shut eye ...
TODAY:
I am staring into the school website trying to figure out how I got to where I am currently ..yes as unlikely as it sounds these moments do happen.. After a gruelling 50 minutes of visual communications lecture this morning, my jour friend and I realised we are actually not supposed to be doing this course because it is part of the 2009 Bachelor of Journalism course but not part of the 2008 one. Thank goodness I had a hearty breakfast at the Wordsmith cafe because the rest of the morning and afternoon was spent running back and forth between the SBS Faculty and the School of Journalism. Apparently each party from either side does not have a clear idea on what is going on, and to be honest neither do I.
All I know is timetables have gone haywire; lectures have been forgone and forget the soreness of the brain I am having a migraine. Now I really feel like five kinds of shit.

It's what I go to school for.
Despite my self-delusion, school has indeed started. Let's play a game of words that are associated with school:
1. Readings Yes tons and tons of readings to be done..I think I shall seek solace in the library with the many other students whose heads are burried deep in books as well...misery definitely needs company haha
2. New Mates There's this aussie guy in my comu tutorial syndicate who looks like a cross breed between Chris Martin and James Morrison ( Ok maybe more towards James Morrison). This is a really good thing since the tutor gets really edgy everytime someone talks concurrently with her-she'll stare at the person with her beady eyes and give a if-I-could-I-would-sit-on-you expression..and trust me you do not want her sitting on you. So yes Mr Morrison makes things a lot easier to deal with :)
3. Early Mornings Seriously every morning when I have to forcefully drag my body out of bed it feels like my soul is being ripped apart by wild dogs..yes it is that tormenting..and today I missed pysc lab research..my apologies to the phd student who was expecting me
4. Social events There's just so much going on during the school semester ..starting with soiree at the International House this Saturday... all the best for your peformance Sara:) Hope I get there in time
5. Gossip Where there are people, there you will find gossip..Thank God I live, breathe and thrive on Gossip ;)
